Who is Homebuyers Centre?

As Western Australia’s largest first home builder, Homebuyers Centre has been a cornerstone of the industry for over 30 years. The builder is known for making homeownership simple and stress-free. Their streamlined process walks homebuyers through choosing a home design, façade and colour scheme, without the overwhelm of traditional selections meetings.

The Challenge: A Disconnected Digital Experience

When partnering with Amped Digital, Homebuyers Centre’s primary challenge was to improve the process of visualising a new home. The traditional sales journey when building a new home relies on paper brochures, which presents several constraints:

  1. Hard to Visualise: Sample packs (brochures, colour boards, take-home packs) are difficult for customers to visualise how a colour scheme would look in their home, creating uncertainty.
  2. Inefficient Comparison: Homebuyers Centre wanted an interactive experience to allow homebuyers to compare options and make informed choices.
  3. Printed Materials That Don’t Keep Up: Keeping physical materials up-to-date can be costly and time-consuming

In addition, the display centre’s four existing non-touch displays ran on a Content Management System (CMS) with access limited to the local network. This made updating content inefficient and lacked the security, remote access, and modern features like screen synchronisation needed by a dynamic marketing team.

Solution Delivery: A Holistic Digital Upgrade

Amped Digital worked in close collaboration with the Homebuyers Centre Marketing and IT teams to deliver a comprehensive, two-part solution.

The Interactive Design Hub

The hero of the first homebuyer room in the display centre is an 85” Samsung Flip interactive display, chosen for its ultra-high brightness and responsive 4K touchscreen. Paired with a BrightSign XT1145 media player, it delivers smooth, high-res content playback without lag. We built a bespoke touch interface allowing clients to flip through designs, compare colour schemes and visualise choices on a large canvas.

The CMS Migration

To solve the operational challenges, Amped Digital migrated the four existing non-touch displays to the Signagelive platform. This strategic move provided a secure, user-friendly, and cloud-based CMS. It empowered the Homebuyers Centre team with remote management capabilities and the ability to synchronise content across all screens for a cohesive brand message. Demonstrating a commitment to cost-effectiveness, Amped was able to facilitate this migration making full use of the existing hardware Homebuyers Centre had already acquired.

The Result: A Transformed Journey, Inside and Out

The implementation of the Amped Digital solution has fundamentally transformed the Homebuyers Centre first home buyer display centre. The once-unused room is now a vibrant and essential design hub that provides immediate value, while the entire digital signage network is now simple to manage.

  1. Enhanced Customer Confidence: The touch screen provides “a real peace of mind for our customers,” allowing them to interact with content, compare designs and turn a daunting decision into an exciting one.
  2. Streamlined Sales Cycle: The interactive digital signage screen has been a proven tool invaluable for accelerating decisions. One sales consultant noted, “I literally had a group of investors that I used this screen on a tour and they selected their colour boards within that tour itself for four different homes.” – Jess Ambrose, Home Collective
  3. Operational Efficiency & Agility: The move to Signagelive and the creation of a flexible touch-screen template through BSN.Cloud have been game-changers. While interactive presentations often require complex coding and technical skills, the BrightSign solution, combined with Amped Digital’s targeted support and training, empowered the Homebuyers Centre marketing team to comfortably manage all content on their own. This self-sufficiency is a critical advantage, removing the need for costly and time-consuming updates from external web developers and replacing ongoing expenses with true in-house agility.

“The screen has really helped us get the right content to people more effectively. Before, we had thousands of brochures that needed to be updated, now everything is digital, and the template is really flexible, so we can change a colour tomorrow ourselves”
