Indoor, Outdoor, and Formats

We supply LED displays for indoor and outdoor settings, in formats from a single screen to a video wall.

Indoor displays use a finer pixel pitch for close viewing, so content stays sharp when people stand near the screen. They suit retail interiors, reception areas, hospitality and QSR menu zones.

Outdoor displays are weatherproof and run at high brightness for direct sun. An outdoor LED digital signage display needs the right nit rating, IP rating, and thermal design for Australian conditions. Our outdoor LED digital signage screens are made for that environment.

Formats Scale to the Space

  • Single screen for a shopfront, menu, or wayfinding point
  • Large-format display for impact in a lobby, concourse or facade, covered on our large LED screens page
  • Video walls excel in both indoor and outdoor spaces. Due to their size and brightness, they can capture attention at greater distances, and turn that attention into traffic.

Most clients choose the managed option, so the screen, the software, and the install arrive as one package, although we’ll only be involved as much as you need us to be. For specialty glass-fronted spaces, see our transparent LED screens.

Our Process

We manage the whole project end-to-end, across four stages.

  1. Procurement & Supply: We match the hardware to your brief and handle hardware procurement with our partners
  2. Installation & Integration: Our delivery and installation team mounts, connects, and commissions the display nationally
  3. Content Design: Our content design team builds creative content made for the screen and the setting
  4. Maintenance & Updates: We keep the display running with ongoing training and support, and remote content updates

Why Amped Digital?

We handle every LED digital signage project end-to-end, so you work with one team throughout. From specification to content, installation, and ongoing support, we manage the lot.

We specify each project to deliver:

  • High visibility and brightness, so content reads in bright interiors and direct sun
  • Durability outdoors, with weatherproof, heat-rated hardware for our climate
  • Energy efficiency, as modern LED panels draw less power than older display tech
  • Dynamic content, scheduled and updated remotely through a content management system
  • Better ROI than print or billboards, because one screen runs many messages with no reprint or reposting costs

We deliver complete LED digital signage projects across Australia and New Zealand, installed through a national network of 400+ technicians.

Additionally, we are technology-agnostic and recommend the right product for your brief and budget. We work with named partners, including Samsung, Absen, LG, Daktronics, Sharp, AOpen, BrightSign, Navori, and Fusion Signage.

LED Digital Signage FAQs

What is LED Digital Signage?

LED digital signage is digital signage where the display itself is built from LEDs. Digital signage is the umbrella, and LED is one type of screen underneath it.

These terms get used interchangeably, but they do not mean the same thing.

  • Digital signage is the umbrella term. It combines a screen, content-management software and usually a network to schedule and push content. The screen underneath can be LCD or LED.
  • LED digital signage is a subset, defined by the display technology. Not all digital signage is LED. Digital signage LED is the same product, named the other way round.

Two things often get confused with the premium displays we supply:

  • It is not a reader board. An older meaning of “LED sign” is a simple text-and-graphics reader board, like a roadside scrolling message. Our displays are full-colour and video-capable.
  • It is not a neon sign. “LED signage” sometimes means custom neon, where a brand name is manufactured into an LED light display. Amped Digital does provide this particular product in our offerings.
What is the difference between LED and LCD digital signage?

Both are digital signage; the difference is the screen technology. LED uses light-emitting diodes for higher brightness and scales to large video walls with no visible joins. LCD is a cheaper panel for smaller indoor screens, while LED wins for bright, outdoor, or large-format sites.

Can LED digital signage be used outdoors in direct sunlight?

Yes, with the right hardware specified for the site. An outdoor display needs a high nit rating, an IP rating against dust and water, and proper thermal design. We specify outdoor screens for each site so they stay bright and durable.

What is the difference between an LED display and an LED reader board?

A reader board shows simple scrolling text and basic graphics, like an older roadside sign. An LED display is full-colour and video-capable, so it runs rich content, imagery, and motion. We supply premium, video-capable displays.

Do you supply only, or also install and manage the content?

We do both. You can take the display supply only, or as a managed package with content software and installation included. Most clients choose the managed option, so procurement, install, content, and support sit with one team.

Do you install LED digital signage across Australia and New Zealand?

Yes, we do. We deliver and support displays across Australia and New Zealand through a national network of 400+ technicians. Perth Airport and Melbourne Airport are among the sites we have installed.

What pixel pitch do I need for my space?

Pixel pitch is the distance between LEDs, and it sets how close people can stand before the image softens. Closer viewing needs a finer pitch; large displays viewed from a distance can use a wider one. We recommend the right pitch once we know your viewing distance and content.
