Lotte

Lotte Duty Free is one of the leading luxury travel retailers in the world. In 2022, the brand opened its iconic flagship store in Market Street Sydney. Featuring luxury beauty and skincare brands, the store spans three levels with exclusive shopping; a prestige watches boutique; fine and rare liquor and wine shopping; and a number of VIP services including concierge and limousine transfers to Sydney’s top restaurants and hotels. In this case study, we will tackle the Lotte Digital Signage Solution we provided and how it helped enhance the brand’s presence in the busy Market Street in Sydney.

The Challenges

Lotte’s Sydney flagship store was the first Lotte store in Australia. Although Lotte is a well-established international brand, awareness in the Australian market was relatively low.

The department store giant contracted Amped Digital to provide a solution that will help attract customers passing by Sydney’s Pitt Street and Market Street at all hours during the day and night. They were looking to capitalise on the high foot and vehicle traffic passing by and draw potential customers into the store. It was crucial that the displays were large and bright in order to be visible to the traffic even in sunlight. It also needed to match the luxurious design of the store’s interior.

Lotte was also having difficulties with managing their content with their previous CMS applications and was looking to upgrade their software. They were looking for a solution that could help them display different content on either side of the screen and make managing content easier.

Our Solution

We installed Samsung OM55N-D high-brightness dual-sided window displays and a Samsung LED display inside Lotte’s Sydney store. With 3,000-nit brightness and anti-glare coating, the window facing screen allows for maximum content visibility and showcases bright and vivid visuals at any time of the day, even at peak sunlight, and at night. This aids in attracting attention and driving foot traffic into the store. Customers inside the store are kept engaged with the internal facing display that delivers product specific information.

All displays have an embedded Tizen powered system-on-chip to allow for a sleek and stylish design without the bulky external media players. The modern design of the screens seamlessly blend with the store’s high-end luxury aesthetics.

We recommended Signagelive CMS and demonstrated the software’s ease of use when it comes to managing the screens’ content and its powerful ability to run content simultaneously on dual-sided displays. BrightSign media players were provided on the store’s legacy screens, then we migrated the data from the previous CMS solution to Signagelive and provided CMS training  to allow Lotte to easily manage their content moving forward.

The Result

The window facing displays work best at attracting potential customers into the store and raising brand awareness. Add to this the ability to display relevant images inside the store to keep customers engaged and informed made for a neat and effective solution. Signagelive CMS also made it easier to manage and update content for Lotte.

We can do pretty much anything on those screens, it can be for a particular marketing campaign or a seasonal period like Christmas or Chinese New Year, or it may be to renew or bolster our brand vision. There’s also a revenue opportunity for brands in leasing those screens to increase instore exposure and we benefit from a return on investment as well.
